The R&D Contract Liaison focuses on the management of the end-to-end contract process in the functional areas of Discovery, Portfolio & Asset Management, and in support of R&D Leadership Team utilizing deep process expertise. This role partners with the business to ensure efficient & compliant delivery of IMM TA business demand as captured by contractual agreements, payment, and any other request requiring submission into J&J enterprise business delivery systems (e.g., eMP, eMC, L&D Aggregator, Labor Marketplace), ensuring all Health Care Compliance requirements are met. Participates in cross-functional forums related to contracts and compliance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Primary point-of-contact to manage contract requests from Translational Science & Medicine (TSM), in the Development Function, as well as R&D Leadership Team, Portfolio & Asset Management, and IMM Therapeutic Area Communications. Provide end-to-end management of such agreement requests. Serve as the key interface between JRD Procurement, TA Business Partner, enterprise Stakeholders, and Supplier (as necessary) enabling efficient management of all contract types. Partner closely with Strategy Implementation Leads for TSM to ensure compliance with internal governance & business planning obligations for business demand received from the TSM Function. Proactively communicate contract, invoicing, and payment details to business partners and affected stakeholders. Single point of contact to problem-solve and trouble-shoot issues around payment, invoicing and supplier management for assigned end-to-end management area(s); follow through issues to successful completion. Serve as Immunology representative in cross-functional (and cross-sector) initiatives related to contracts management (Subject Matter Expert). Collaborate with line management to drive process improvement for delivery of IMM TA business demand, and inform broader R&D business delivery processes. Qualifications Education and Experience:
B.A./B.S. or equivalent industry knowledge
3+ years of experience working in the Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology or Medical Device/Diagnostics industry.
2+ years working in business delivery capacity for Pharmaceutical R&D and/or Procurement; experience in Immunology business delivery preferred.
Strong organizational, planning, problem-solving, and analytical skills, with high attention to detail. Demonstrated skills in effective stakeholder management, with existing network relationships in Janssen Research Procurement category leadership and data management groups. Deep understanding of, and demonstrated capabilities in J&J eMarketplace, eMarketplace Contracting, and Learning & Development Aggregator systems. Ability to communicate with senior leadership, cross-functional stakeholders, and scientific business partners to inform contracting strategy, compliance, and payment management toward delivery of key business demand. Must be able to work effectively and independently, and capable of partnering in a distributed team environment / remote capacity. Track and report contracting activities in SharePoint and other Microsoft Office 365-based business tools toward management & delivery of IMM TA business demand. Strong capacity & interest in shaping, developing, and learning new processes & technology-based systems. Working knowledge of Salesforce data management system. Provide key insights to drive improvements in IMM TA business demand forecasting capabilities.
