El proyecto tiene el potencial de ayudar a impulsar el futuro energético limpio del país, reforzar la cadena de suministro nacional de minerales esenciales, hacer crecer la economía local y mejorar la calidad de vida en el condado de Santa Cruz y en las comunidades aledañas para las generaciones venideras.WHAT SOUTH32 OFFERS• Annual short-term incentive bonus that recognizes both your individual performance and the overall success of the business.• When you choose to contribute more into your retirement savings, South32 will match it up to a certain percentage.• Provision of 4-weeks annual paid leave entitlement• 12 weeks full-paid parental leave for primary carers and 2 weeks full-paid parental leave for secondary carersABOUT THE ROLEAs Principal, Sustainability Readiness you will be responsible for supporting the Hermosa leadership team with the development and integration of a sustainability focus in alignment with corporate sustainability governance, strategies, plans and objectives.Other key responsibilities include, but aren't limited to:• Act as the facilitator between the Hermosa Project and the Sustainability Strategy team to enhance sustainability performance and foster a mutual understanding of each other's operational contexts and approach to delivering against mandate.• Identify and promote further value adding, sustainability focused opportunities during the detailed design and construction phases of the Taylor Project, and within the approved scope, and through the study phases of Clark.• Support capacity building in the project and operational teams by developing an understanding of the macro-context drivers for sustainability (e.g. emerging sustainability related trends, investor and customer expectations, global positions and policies etc), and their value within the development and operations of the Hermosa Project.• Support the Sustainability Strategy team by helping to understand the context drivers for the Hermosa Project to enable efficient and effective delivery of company and project goals.• Support Hermosa leadership and risk owners to ensure sustainability-related risks and opportunities are identified and managed within South32's risk management framework, including strategic and operational risks.• Collaborate with relevant project functions to ensure sustainability-related risks and opportunities are considered in the design, development, and operational phases of the Hermosa project.• Collaborate with the Hermosa operational readiness team to establish and execute an operational readiness plan that translates sustainability policies, commitments, governance and strategies into Hermosa's operating model in a way that supports the objectives of operations, projects and functions.• Support the project development and environment teams to implement the sustainability initiatives in the approved Hermosa project design e.g. minimise operational footprint, water stewardship initiatives, decarbonisation, nature/biodiversity and community investment programs.ABOUT YOU• Bachelor's degree or similar in environmental, sustainability or energy related fields• 10+ years' experience in a large, complex organisation.• Demonstrated ability to develop effective working relationships across multiple levels and teams in different operating cultures and contexts• Demonstrated ability to influence a variety of internal stakeholders in the project and functions on business decisions and management approaches• Extensive experience in the identification of business impacts, opportunities and development of responses• Previous experience developing and embedding sustainability strategies within large complex businesses e.g. mining or other extractive industries• Experience in working in ambiguous situations and ability to apply high level analytical and strategic thinking to develop a resolution• High level written and verbal communication skillsSouth32 is committed to building and maintaining an inclusive and diverse workforce that reflects the communities in which we operate.
