Responsibilities
• Participate in teaching physiology within the pre-clinical curriculum• Develop and prepare teaching materials• Serve as a student advisor and mentor• Participate in prospective student interviewing• Serve on selected departmental, college, and faculty committees and task forces• Participate in and deliver professional development• Assist in accreditation, assessment, and quality improvement functions• Foster a positive culture amongst students, faculty, and staff• Participate in professional activities, societies, and associations• Serve in academic leadership roles and perform other related duties
Requirements
• Terminal degree in physiology or a related discipline• Experience in teaching physiology/pathophysiology• Maintain appropriate licensure for practice in health care• Skills in technology applied to classroom work• Evidence of supporting students from diverse backgrounds• Postdoctoral experience in the field of physiology (preferred)• Additional training or experience in educational theory and/or evaluation (preferred)• Success as a medical educator (preferred)• Experience with innovative teaching methods and instructional design (preferred)• Record of scholarly activity (preferred)
