CDOR Values Description of Job Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV)
The Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) provides services used by nearly every citizen of the State. Colorado citizens utilize identification, driver, and vehicle services at State and County offices to obtain identification cards, driver licenses, vehicle registrations, titles, and other related services. Additionally, the DMV licenses and provides oversight of private businesses and government organizations that provide driver and emission testing services. Finally, the division works closely with other state agencies and programs to provide information and education to serve the public and encourage voluntary compliance.

DUTIES : The employee in this position ensures compliance with Colorado Revised Statutes; Federal rules and regulations, Department policies, rules and procedures in the issuance of Colorado documents to qualified applicants; with the primary goal of ensuring the integrity of all documents issued to Colorado residents. This position functions as the primary point of contact to customers at the State of Colorado Driver's License facilities across the State of Colorado, and as such are considered a high volume customer service related position.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Adjust resources and personnel, as needed, for maximum effectiveness
Responsible for New Performance Plan Year evaluations; Quarterly Performance Progress Reviews; Mid Year and Final Performance Evaluations.
Resolving employee performance concerns and/or disciplinary action
Handles and resolves customer complaints
Processes complicated, or more difficult procedural applications;
Oversee performance of Assistant Managers
Responsible for Accounting and Cashiering Procedures, such as: daily deposit, reconciling employee cash/credit card receipts; verification of funds; employee cashiering.
Performs all functions of line staff, including issuing documents, when business dictates.


This position may be required to travel and work between Driver License Offices. The successful candidate will be required to sit and stand for long periods throughout the day.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must meet one of the following or any combination of experience/education to meet the qualifications:

OPTION 1:
Five years of work experience in a public-facing customer service, supervisor or managerial environment to include performance management, or regulatory environment role.

OR
OPTION 2:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Human Resources or similar related functional area will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
1 year of professional experience in a public-facing customer service, supervisor or managerial environment to include performance management, or regulatory environment role.

OR
OPTION 3:
Additional appropriate education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications Additional years of direct supervisory experience leading a workforce interacting with the general public Additional years of department management experience, establishing performance goals and evaluating workforce performance Additional years experience in a regulatory environment or technical customer service workplace serving the general public Intermediate to advanced computer and data entry skills Driver License Fundamentals (DLF) Certified DOR Required Skills and Competencies : Competencies required for all DOR positions include good communications skills, interpersonal and people management skills, the ability to multitask, the ability to work with confidential information, the ability to work in high-stress environments, and the demonstrated ability to assist customers.
Conditions of Employment with the Colorado Department of Revenue :
1. As a condition of employment with the Colorado Department of Revenue, a requirement exists that all personnel timely file all necessary Colorado Individual Income Tax (CIIT) returns and timely pay tax obligations. As such, all employees must undergo a pre-employment evaluation of their tax records/accounts to ensure compliance with this policy.


2. Employees are in a position of public trust in the performance of their job duties and must operate in a manner that maintains the highest standards of honesty, integrity, and public confidence. All job finalists require successful completion of a background investigation and reference check prior to appointment. Background checks may include national criminal, financial, traffic, civil, education, and/or experience checks or any other checks related to the job assignment. Fingerprint background checks and pre-employment drug testing may also be required for some positions.
3. Colorado Fingerprint-based Criminal History Record Check Requirement: At the time of onsite interview, applicants to this position are required to submit fingerprints and authorize the hiring authority to complete a fingerprint-based criminal history record check through the Colorado and Federal Bureau of Investigation; pursuant to Colorado State Law 42-1-244 C.R.S. (2015). The department may use this information to make employment decisions concerning such employees.
