Job OverviewWe are looking for a professional, high-energy, friendly personality Bartender with excellent communication skills to serve classical cocktails and exciting new beverages to our members and guest. The Bartender will greet members and guest, learn about their preferences, answer questions, recommend menu items, and prepare and serve beverages and food. You will also upsell items, create recipes, utilize proper equipment and ingredients, and handle basic cleaning duties.Job FunctionsWelcoming members and guest, reading and listening to people to determine beverage preferences, making recommendations, and taking drink orders.Planning drink menus and informing members and guest about new beverages and specials.Selecting and mixing ingredients, garnishing glasses, and serving beverages to members and guest.Checking identification to ensure members and guest are legal age to purchase alcohol.Taking inventory and ordering supplies to ensure bar and tables are well-stocked.Adhering to all food safety and quality regulations.Maintaining a clean work area by removing trash, cleaning tables, and washing glasses, utensils, and equipment.Developing new cocktail recipes.Meets state minimum age to serve alcohol.Positive, engaging personality, and professional appearance.Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.Strong task and time management abilities.Eye for detail and understanding of drink mixing tools and techniques.Physical Requirements:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.Ability to lift 40 lbs.Ability to work long hours, evenings, holidays, and weekends.Ability to remain on feet the majority of the workday.Education and ExperiencePrevious experience in the restaurant or hospitality industry preferred. * Have 2+years of bartending/serving or related experience in a full service restaurantHave a current food handler's card and alcohol service certification as required by federal/state/local lawMeet minimum age for preparing and serving alcoholic beveragesHave basic knowledge of food and beverage service/hospitalityHave Excellent customer service skillsHigh school diploma or GEDAdditional education, training, certificates, or experience may be required.This job description is not an exclusive or exhaustive list of all job functions that an employee in this position may be asked to perform from time to time.
