12 Month Position Details: Summary of Duties:
The Early Childhood Specialist 3 is the lead classroom teacher and directs all daily operations in a developmentally appropriate classroom (infant, toddler, preschool, or school age).
Responsibilities include: planning, implementing, and evaluating curriculum activities for children; planning and directing routine classroom activities such as meals, bathroom/diapers, naps, and physical care; modeling appropriate nurturing and communication skills with children; directing and maintaining a safe, healthy environment; completing child assessments and conducting parent conferences; leading Early Childhood Specialist 2, student staff, and volunteers in classroom; upholding licensing and accreditation standards; evaluating student staff; and completing required paperwork. Required Qualifications: Forty-five college quarter hours in early childhood development/education/special education or equivalent OR a Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) and two years experience working in a group setting with children of the ages enrolled in the program; OR equivalent education/experience.

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood or Elementary Education.
Demonstrated excellent communication skills with parents, children, colleagues.
Demonstrated flexibility in dealing with frequent changes and/or crises.
Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices with young children.
Proven leadership skills.
Strong knowledge of curriculum development and assessments for children birth twelve years.
Demonstrated successful team work with others.

Monthly Salary:


Range 42, $3,537.00 - $4,723.00 (Steps A - M) | Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28 .
