At GoDaddy the future of work looks different for each team. Some teams work in the office full-time, others have a hybrid arrangement (they work remotely some days and in the office some days) and some work entirely remotely.
Remote : This is a remote position, so you'll be working remotely from your home. You may occasionally visit a GoDaddy office to meet with your team for events or meetings.
This position is not eligible to be performed in Alaska, Mississippi, North Dakota, or the Virgin Islands.

In that work, GoDaddy is seeking a highly qualified and motivated Director of Global Revenue Accounting. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring that all order to cash transactions, including revenue recognition, are completely and accurately reflected in our financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and international regulations as required.

What you'll get to do... Oversee remote revenue accounting teams, and work closely with the business partner teams to provide revenue guidance as needed and ensure accurate data and controls are in place for recognition of international revenue Be responsible for financial systems implementation and support, including guidance on revenue recognition requirements, SOX controls associated with both SDLC and post go live consideration, external financial reporting requirements, audit enablement and internal reporting needs Supervise the global deal desk, including real time assessment of revenue recognition requirements and ensuring requirements are supported through ecommerce and revenue recognition systems Lead the preparation of general ledger entries and the proper presentation on the financial statements Be responsible for the month end close process, including preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and account analysis in a timely manner Provide subject matter expertise for accounts receivable team in supporting projects and facilitating internal and external financial reporting processes Effectively align with appropriate departments and third party partners to provide end-to-end support as needed Maintain and improve SOX compliance for accounting functions and participate in SOX documentation and testing Identify and proactively provide solutions for automation and process improvement while ensuring daily responsibilities are completed with detail, accuracy, and timeliness Oversee employees primarily based in the United States but may also have oversight of international employees and such oversight will include ensuring daily tasks are performed and month end accounting related duties are completed. This also includes ensuring compliance with SOX controls and seeking continuous process improvements and automation Your experience should include... Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field 10+ years of relevant accounting experience with a strong understanding of accounting theory Revenue and accounts receivable accounting experience in publicly traded companies Expertise with SQL or related coding experience A solid understanding of US GAAP and related experience with accounting research and application Auditing skills, with the ability to research and reconcile difficult accounts Strong analytical skills and advanced Microsoft Excel experience Being highly detail oriented and organized in work with the ability to meet assigned deadlines The ability to work independently and collaboratively in coordination with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to improve performance, creativity, problem solving, and results Able to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish assigned tasks and thrive in a fast paced, constantly changing environment You should have a strong foundation in team building and management, financial systems implementation and management, deal desk, general accounting, revenue recognition, operational and process optimization and streamlining, and a strong analytical and problem-solving ability You might also have... Master's degree in accounting Big 4 public accounting experience Experience in SaaS or technology industry We've got your back...
