Perform general duty security work to protect life and property, enforce laws and ordinances, maintain order, and prevent and investigate crime.
Responsible for enforcing campus regulations and local, state, and federal laws.
Composition of miscellaneous correspondence, cash handling, interpretation and application of various regulations, codes, and statutes pertaining to public safety and parking.
Serves as the primary safety and security contact for the campus when commissioned officers are unavailable. Required Qualifications:
High School graduation or equivalent; possession of a valid driver's license; no previous felony convictions; AND two years of full-time college in police science; OR two years of police or campus security experience; OR equivalent education/experience.

Employment contingent upon passing a criminal background check, motor vehicle records check and WSP WATCH.
Possession of a valid driver's license.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a highly diverse environment.
A demonstrated commitment to community outreach and partnerships.
Proficient in computer use, email, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word.
Proficient use of work-related technology such as radios, emergency communications systems, on-campus PA systems, cell phones and mobile computers in Police vehicles.
Ability to acquire First Aid certification within 6 months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:


Knowledge of parking and public safety operations.

50% Security and Emergency Response


30% Investigations and Reporting


15% Administration


5% Other duties as assigned.

Monthly Salary:


$3,883 to $5,214 Step A-M, Range R-46. Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28.
