Job Summary: The Benefits Manager: Insurance, Retirement, & Accommodation, holds primary responsibility for employee programs focused on insurance plans, retirement plans, medical monitoring, leaves, and accommodation. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Human Resources. Ideal candidate is proactive, has strong communication and technology skills, is extremely organized, very collaborative, and works well with a team. Expectations & Responsibilities: Primary responsibility for administration of employee insurance benefits and retirement plan. Primary responsibility for medical management, leave administration, and workplace accommodations. Primary planner for annual Benefits Open Enrollment. Develop and implement sustained benefit education program. Maintain records related to trainings and provide metrics to AHRD. Create and distribute communications focused on employee insurance and retirement programs. Monitor compliance related to benefit programs. Develop and maintain partnership with external vendors. Identify issues and concerns, advise AHRD of escalated issues, and assist in vendor searches as necessary. Provide intermittent review & evaluation of current employee benefit programs and provide information to senior HR leadership regarding employee offerings. Pro-actively seek new opportunities for employee programs. Provide clear & concise reports to AHRD regarding status of tasks & initiatives. Maintain responsibility for understanding the finances associated with benefit initiatives. In partnership with their fellow Benefits Manager, provide updated benefits information and presentation for New Hire Orientation (NHO). Assist with employee wellbeing and workplace safety as needed. Uphold the core values and policies and procedures of the department and the resort. All other duties, as assigned. Qualifications: Must have experience working in a Human Resources department supporting a year-round employee population of 500 or more. Must have at least three years of management experience. Skilled at performing duties of a sensitive and confidential nature and able to maintain confidentiality at all times. Administrative experience required. Human Resources and/or Customer Service experience preferred but not required. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Must possess good listening skills and ask questions for clarification. Strong skills in technology. The ability to operate office equipment, such as copiers, fax machines, printers, scanners, and multi-line phones. The ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, database systems, and understand how to search, compile data, and prepare/complete reports/information effectively and efficiently. Experience with Ceridian Dayforce or a similar HR information system preferred. Strong organizational, interpersonal, problem solving, and communication (written and verbal) skills, displays initiative, and exercises good judgment. Have the ability and willingness to learn new things. Ability to multi-task and organize. Experience with meeting schedules and timelines. Has the ability to work independently as well as be a cooperative team member. Ability to exercise good judgment in recognizing scope of authority and taking responsibility for performance of duties and gaining appropriate approvals. Remain calm and flexible, with the ability to adjust quickly to unique and changing circumstances. Must be able to pass a background check Must be able to work onsite Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm Essential Physical Requirements: Must be able to reach, bend and stoop occasionally. Must be able to carry items up to 40lbs over moderate distances occasionally. Must be able to work in an office setting with tasks such as typing, answering phones, use of a computer for hours at a time. Must be able to verbally communicate with others one-on-one in person, phone, email, and text. Must be able to work on site to be available to employees for human resource assistance during office hours. Join our team and work in paradise!
