Administrative Accountant Location New Orleans, LA : About us Westbank Fishing LLC is a medium business in New Orleans, LA. We own a fleet of fishing vessels docked in empire, LA. Our fishing season starts in April and ends in October. Maintaining a viable and sustainable fishery is the cornerstone of Westbank's business philosophy. The Company operates within a highly regulated, sustainable fishery under the authority of the Gulf States Menhaden Management Plan, with federal oversight by National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). The Gulf Menhaden fishery received certification from the Marine Stewardship Council, considered the global gold standard on fishing industry sustainability certification, in 2018.
Menhaden, small oily fish, are migratory plankton surface-feeders that swim in large schools during the fishing season, which extends from mid-April to November 1.
Typically, Westbank vessels are responsible for 42% to 48% of the annual U.S. Gulf Menhaden catch. Drawing its strength from a sustainable fishery, a global marketplace, and a diverse management team with extensive experience in the fishing industry and related agribusinesses, the Company has constantly reinvested in new technology to produce premium products.

### Job Summary:
We are seeking an adminsitrative Accountant to join our small headoffice team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management and analysis, with a focus on general ledger reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and reporting. The person will be responsible for 3 significant areas (1) Accounting (2) Accounts payable and (3) adminsitrative tasks.
### Duties:
Accounting
Administrative Accountant prepares/posts general journal entries and is responsible for all aspects of bank reconciliation/cash management process. Preparation/Reconciliation for Balance Sheet accounts. Related duties include (but are not limited to):
Ensuring all general journals entries are posted in a timely manner with appropriate support. Review and process warehouse/fuel issue tickets and provide entries to Controller for any stock adjustments. Review and process inventory issue tickets and provide entries to Controller for any stock adjustments. Review and code invoices/statements to appropriate general ledger accounts. Entering fuel tickets on the fish catch website and preparing/distributing fuel/oil usage reports as directed. Reconcile/record operating bank account activity on a daily basis, including updating cash flow forecast weekly. Assist with internal and external audit queries. Ad-hoc tasks and projects as and when assigned by management. Monitoring and performing weekly and monthly reconciliations of Balance Sheet accounts. Assist Controller with month-end closing processes. Reconciling the Amex credit card to ensure all necessary support is received and preparing the journal entry for upload into the ERP system. Accounts Payable
Position oversees weekly vendor payments and is responsible for ensuring timely approval, processing, and payment of all invoices received. Serves as primary contact with vendors and records all invoices. Related duties include (but are not limited to):
Ensuring all invoices, purchase orders, goods received, and payments are posted to the ERP system correctly and in a timely manner. Monitoring the timely receipt of paperwork (purchase orders, packing slips, invoices) received from Marine Department location. Following up on open purchase orders Matching purchase orders with delivery note and invoice. Following upon any discrepancies. Manage AP email inbox, ensuring all invoices are sent to appropriate personnel for approval. Ensuring all invoices sent out for approval are received and processed in a timely manner. Selecting invoices for check and wire payments on a weekly basis. Preparing checks for review and mailing them on a weekly basis. Ensuring month end statements are received from vendors and reconciled to the ERP System. Following up on any outstanding invoices on statement not yet processed in the ERP System. Building and maintaining relationships with vendors, including resolving any vendor inquiries and ensuring vendor information is up to date on an ongoing basis. Constant review of accounts payable, aging analysis and vendor statements to ensure all invoices due have been paid. Administrative
Position oversees and supports all necessary administrative duties in the office and ensures that the office is operating smoothly. Related duties include (but are not limited to):
General filing of all documentation (both electronic and physical files). Answering and screening main office phone calls and directing them as appropriate Performing reception duties at front desk Coordinate all mailing/deliveries to Marine Department office in Empire, LA Pick up and distribute mail daily. Make deposits of checks at the bank on a limited basis Assist in preparation/coordination for meetings in the conference room. Manage stock and ordering of office/kitchen supplies. Communicate with building personnel to coordinate any necessary maintenance or repairs. Assist with seasonal onboarding (1-4 days) at start of fishing season at Marine Dept. in Empire. ### Experience:
- Bachelor's degree ( in Accounting or related field preferred)
- Proven experience in general ledger reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and regulatory reporting
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
-Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and Office required
- Proficiency in using accounting software such as Sage 100 or similar (preferred)
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience working under tight deadlines.
- Experience with handling multiple duties during the same timeframe.
- Self-driven individual - goal oriented
