The Accounting Manager oversees all the aspects of accounting and account management for the Carpenters Training Institute. There are currently thirteen training campuses across six states that the accounting manager will perform all accounting operations for. This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the day-to-day functionality of the businesses' finances including Accounts Payable, Payroll, Accounts Receivable, Asset Management, and other assignments.
The essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Salary:   Based on credentials, background and experience. PROVIDE LEADERSHIP AND OVERSIGHT FOR THE ACCOUNTING DEPARMEN T
Effectively lead and manage all staff in the accounting department Monitor work assignments, progress on projects, and implement adjustments as required ACCOUNTS PAYABLE Accurately process and pay incurred expenses across all locations under the Carpenters & Joiners Apprenticeship and Journeymen Training Trust Fund and Building Corp Trust Fund Employee Expense Reimbursements Audit submitted receipt documentation in accordance with employee expense policy Monitor requested reimbursements for non-reimbursable charges Process mileage reimbursements and verify for accuracy Outside Class Reimbursements Gain necessary Executive Director/Director/Coordinator approval Verify reimbursement request and appropriate payee through proof of payment Distribute requested reimbursements Manage financial aspects of ITC Conference and affiliate trade conventions Process incurred expenses for ITC conferences and affiliated trade conventions; including but not limited to; Journeyman Leadership, Collaborative Leadership, Third Year Apprentice Program, Midwest District Conference, Scaffold Conference, Millwright Conference, Pile Driver Conference, Interior Systems, and Concrete Conference Manage Employee Benefits Packages Process employee fringes and associated reports to area benefits managers Create and distribute US Dept. of Rev. required tax documentation, forms 1099 & 1096 Assist Accounting Auditors in yearly financial audit PAYROLL Back-up for processing payroll in Paychex to include:
Pull and audit required time-clock reports Present composed payroll expenses for Executive Director approval Submit verified hours and payroll expenses electronically through Paychex online portal. Tracking and monitor all employee wages in conjunction with appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreements and associated payroll requirements across all Training campuses, locations, and crafts Including, but not limited to the following: Hire Dates, Probationary Periods, Paid Time Off, Paid Holidays, Vacation Time, Sick Time, Wage Advances, Bereavement, Personal Days, Overtime Requirements, Child Support, and Wage Garnishment Manage the distribution US Dept. of Rev. required W2 tax documentation ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE Accurately process all Cash Receipts Continuously monitor bank balance to maintain maximum/minimum required Provide leadership, management, and review of accounts receivable processes and work VENDOR & CONTRACT MANAGEMENT Review and implement all contracts and vendor agreements per determined billing terms Manage, record and archive all vendor agreements and signed contracts. OTHER DUTIES Create and Maintain Internal Controls Responsible for providing bank reconciliation for review according to control documents Oversee and manage general ledger activity Fixed Assets Management Insurance Liability Certificates, execute policy requirements and policy evaluations State/Location Requirements Unemployment Taxes File tax returns annually Sales Property Apply for and maintain exemption status in all states Work closely with the Leadership Team to develop detailed monthly, quarterly and annual reports in a timely manner and provide account analysis. Work with the Leadership Team on the budgeting process Education and/or Work Experience Requirements: BA in accounting preferred Preference given to applicants who possess five years or more of non-profit accounting experience with references Experience with INTACCT Accounting Systems preferred Physical Requirements: Must be physically capable of completing the work Must be willing to travel as required
