The candidate will support the agency's Bankruptcy Act Improvement Act (BAIA) initiatives. The overall objectives are to provide the ability (1) to import all bankruptcy courts' budget and payment data for eligible cases into a single BAIA database (DB) and (2) to reconcile the courts' budget data to payment data for eligible cases.
We currently utilize a mix of technologies on this initiative - primarily PHP with some JavaScript and CSS, MariaDB and MySQL 8 databases, and Linux.
Version control experience using GIT is strongly preferred, or an equivalent similar tool. Any experience with infrastructure and server management is beneficial, and a thorough ability to connect to, navigate and run commands under Linux is expected.
An understanding of web-application security and testing practices is desired, including penetration testing, static code analysis and load testing. Experience of 508 compliance implementation and front-end testing such as page speed tests and browser compliance testing is useful. Experience with automated scripted testing using Selenium, JMeter or similar is beneficial.
Projects are managed in an agile environment, and experience of JIRA or similar project tracking tools is helpful.
The candidate should expect taskings to include some reporting on software project specifications, activities, and status, as well some documentation tasks.
The candidate will perform against all phases of the software development lifecycle including analyzing user/business needs and functionality through to planning and executing software systems to meet those needs. Experience building custom data-heavy web-applications is essential.
The candidate in this senior position should expect additional taskings to include some reporting on software project specifications, activities, and status, as well some documentation tasks. The candidate will be expected to propose and execute on solutions towards the project goals.
The candidate should expect to work on both small team and solo projects, with minimal to no supervision. The successful candidate may also be asked to mentor junior developers and to act on behalf of the technical lead when needed.
