What You Will Be Doing
Materials Manager duties to include:
Execute daily transactions for building materials, MRO, and other services to ensure reliable supply of goods and services.
Execute purchase orders in SpendMap, maintain purchasing information records, provide invoice discrepancy resolution, expediting, and general purchasing activities.
Calculate material requirements (takeoffs) from construction drawings.
Work to resolve internal and external issues related to supply and the Purchase to Pay (P2P) process.
Build and maintain effective relationships with trade partners to better meet cost and production requirements.
Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities, and the supplier's reputation and history.
Communicate product changes to Business Development, Production, Engineering and Trade Partners as well as coordinate pricing adjustments when necessary.
What You Need for this Position
Required skills and Qualifications:
Must be knowledgeable about the construction industry including construction cost, materials, products, methods and procedures.
Ability to read blueprints, construction drawings and addendums required.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize several tasks without compromising quality of work or mission deadlines.
Highly analytical, in terms of quantitative (mathematical) and qualitative (trade quality assessment) skills.
Proven organization skills in a high paced work environment.
Must be able to use word processing, e-mail and have advanced Excel spreadsheet skills for internal and external communications, creation of reports and presentations.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize several tasks without compromising quality of work or mission deadlines.
Knowledge of business English and ability to communicate patiently and professionally with both internal and external customers both orally and in writing. Bi-lingual in Spanish a plus.
Must enjoy fast paced, high volume work environment
Minimum of 3 years of experience in Purchasing or Supply Chain in the Construction Industry.
4-year degree in Construction Management, Industrial Engineering, or Business Administration or comparable on-the-job experience desired
