Full job description The Project Manager will act as a liaison between Grand Valley, customers, and vendors; managing the complete job process, including but not limited to receipt of order through manufacturing release, project shipment, post shipment support, financial reconciliation, and close-out of the project.
Role and Responsibilities: Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers and vendors. At customer onboarding, design and implement the status report to be used throughout the project. Update daily, reviewing with customers on a weekly basis discussing any issues and ensuring project timelines are met. Become the lead contact for project related issues, responding to customer inquiries, escalating information to appropriate departments as needed. Maintain daily / weekly inventory of supplies, WIP, finished goods, etc. Coordinate with Plant Manager and other department managers to identify and resolve any issues related to productivity, on-time delivery, schedule, etc. Remain in constant contact and coordination with the Sales department ensuring they are involved in decisions that involve changes in scope as well as to stay on top of opportunities that may present themselves during and after the project. Coordinate with vendors for the status of outside processing steps (arrival, processing, and expected return). Coordinate freight and invoicing for select customers. Follow through with carrier and customer to ensure pickup and delivery. Manage the NCR process for the repair of parts: outside vendor management, tracking of machine hours, documentation, and invoicing as required. Provide technical expertise to customers, assisting them in understanding Grand Valley processes and capabilities. Administrative Support to Sales and Operations as needed. Qualifications and Education Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor's degree preferred. Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a project management role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Skills Able to effectively communication (verbal and written) and work/relate with people at all levels of the organization. Excellent organization skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Proficient with Microsoft Office, with an emphasis in Excel. Able to perform basic math, to include addition, subtraction, simple division, and multiplication. Able to learn company specialized software. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will occasionally enter manufacturing areas where they are exposed to moving mechanical parts and airborne particles. The noise in these work environments is moderate to loud.
