Work with emerging technologies while enabling IT success for everyone.What You'll DoOur Media Systems Engineering team is embedded in the Media and Projects Engineering (MPE) group at Epic Games. Our team is globally responsible for the design, integration, and maintenance of the media & av system infrastructure at Epic Games. This role's primary focus is service and support of the content review rooms, recording studios, editorial suites, conferencing systems, broadcast streams, virtual production, and capture systems support.In this role, you willMaintain integrated A/V systems including hardware, soft codecs, and control systemsProvide maintenance and support for conference and content review roomsDay-to-day site support in local Epic Games facility as well as engineering support for MSE in the greater region in partnership with existing MSE resourcesTroubleshoot system failures and provide break/fix supportProvide front-line response for emergency requests for professional, consumer A/V systems, and in-house developed technologiesEvent support including live sound reinforcement, videoconferencing, and streaming contentMaintain and organize engineering labs and storageProvide general administrative support, asset management, data entry, and documentation updatesShip and receive A/V hardware for inventory and repairAssist with the day-to-day support of the MPE team, including special projects and Event-Tech as a local resource to the siteIntegration of new systems ensuring enterprise-wide standards are met and maintained across Epic locationsSome travel is required as needed and could be for extended periods of 1-2 weeks at a timeWhat we're looking forMinimum of 5 years working on a tech team, with a heavy concentration on A/V support and integrationExperience reading and creating signal flow diagrams, cable termination types, and compatible signal conversions in video and audioWorking knowledge of video and audio signals, with a clear understanding of sampling rate, frame rate, frame resolution, etc.Experience with A/V systems such as Zoom, Dante, and Q-SysStrong on-the-spot troubleshooting skillsFriendly and patient customer service skills - able to be the positive face of the MSE TeamFlexible nature with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks & activities simultaneouslyStrong administrative and communication skills, attention to detail, and follow-throughStrong self-starter with the ability to work independentlyAbility to lift heavy equipment (50+ lbs)Preferred: Basic knowledge in the use of equipment such as voltage meters, soldering iron, crimping tools, RTA mic/systems, and Colorimeters, Basic construction skills a plus (ex. wall mounting displays/projector mounts), Basic Networking experienceEPIC JOB + EPIC BENEFITS = EPIC LIFEOur intent is to cover all things that are medically necessary and improve the quality of life.
