We're in search of a seasoned FOIA Analyst to take charge of managing the intricate process of Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests. This pivotal role entails crafting project plans, serving as the primary point of contact for requesters, conducting team training, and ensuring the smooth and compliant handling of FOIA requests.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and supervise project plans for FOIA requests, meticulously tracking key milestones and deadlines.
Serve as the main liaison for FOIA requesters, offering regular updates and resolving inquiries promptly.
Provide comprehensive training and guidance to staff on the FOIA process, ensuring clarity in their roles and responsibilities.
Analyze records to determine the need for external or additional coordination before release.
Maintain accurate records of FOIA requests and ensure timely responses.
Collaborate with internal departments to allocate necessary resources for fulfilling FOIA requests.
Oversee the management of all FOIA-related records, both physical and electronic.
Generate and disseminate FOIA reports, and promptly address internal and external queries.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree.
Minimum of 10 years of FOIA experience, including 8 years in FOIA and 4 years in management.
Experience in leading mid to large teams of professionals with varying skill levels.
Experience in appeal and litigation procedures.
Proficient knowledge of FOIA regulations, exemptions, and best practices.
Excellent communication skills and professionalism in engaging with diverse stakeholders.
Familiarity with FOIA software (e.g., FOIAXpress) and document management systems.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Suite.
Ability to accurately interpret FOIA legislation and apply it in various contexts.
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities.
U.S. citizenship and willingness to undergo a Government background check.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification desired.
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: $ 132,000.00 Per Year
