The Wisconsin Humane Society Ozaukee Campus is looking for a Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) to join our team providing care for thousands of shelter animals each year! This position offers a competitive starting hourly wage range of $20.00 - $22.00 and offers a flexible weekday schedule. As a CVT at WHS, you will work alongside a team of shelter medicine veterinarians and veterinary support staff to provide care for animals. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Providing caring, compassionate, and detail-oriented care for shelter patients Correctly and efficiently executing treatments, diagnostics, and medication under the direction of a veterinarian. Maintaining detailed and accurate medical records in our animal management software Anesthesia induction and monitoring Surgery prep and post-operative care Calculating drug dosages Performing dental prophylaxis Performing diagnostic procedures such as venipuncture, radiographs, fecal floats, and urinalysis Vaccinating and restraining animals in accordance with organizational protocols. Maintaining and cleaning surgical equipment Maintain high standards of cleanliness of all animal areas. Assisting with low-cost, high-volume public vaccination and microchip clinics Qualifications Commitment to WHS organizational values of compassion, respect, and kindness; positive approach; innovation; professionalism; and equity. Current state licensure as a certified/registered/licensed veterinary technician Must be able to routinely carry 25lbs and up to 50lbs This position requires standing, stooping, bending, and lifting for several hours at a time Must be committed to WHS's organizational values of compassion, respect, and kindness, innovation, professionalism, equity, and positive approach Prior experience working in a shelter setting a plus Bilingual candidates strongly encouraged to apply Benefits/Compensation Signing Bonus
WHS is currently offering a signing bonus of up to $1,500. Eligible hires can earn $750 after 90 days of employment and additional $750 after 6 months for a total of $1,500! Benefits:
