No Job Description: Summary of the position: Responsible for helping produce layouts from specifications, make modifications on standard models and drawings for a fabrication facility. Perform some detailing of engineering concepts as directed. Compile and maintain required documents and records.
Duties and responsibilities: Perform drafting and assist Senior Drafter with designing projects that are to be constructed in a fabrication facility. Work independently and as part of a team to produce of modify a variety of standard layouts, assemblies, and drawings for new and existing projects. Work from standard product specifications using manufacturing and material quotes to guide design decisions. Modify or adjust 2D/3D models according to defined specifications. Study and analyze blueprints and computer or hand generated technical drawings. Maintain records, documents, and findings. Collaborate with shop personnel to ensure design manufacturability and efficiency. Compile Bills of Materials and specification sheets Qualifications: Education :
High school diploma or equivalent/associate degree preferred. A combination of at least one-year related technical experience and education applicable to mechanical drafting in a manufacturing environment Professional experience: Strong mechanical aptitude. Basic knowledge of industrial manufacturing processes and tools Strong logical, analytical, and results-oriented problem-solving skills. Good Computer proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and AutoCAD. Strong math, blueprint reading skills, and use of technical instructions. Basic electrical and software systems knowledge ideal. Team player and self-motivated. Ability to work attentively and efficiently at producing high quality work. Good verbal and written communication skills Key Behaviors: Ability to meet the public in a friendly, courteous, and businesslike manner. Ability to communicate orally and in writing, and to receive detailed information in person or by phone. Ability to read, verify and input accurately a large volume of work with repetitive motions required. Ability to perform routine mathematical calculations and accurately transfer numbers to various reports/entries. Ability to work well with others and be detail oriented.
